what I have ever know of Mr. Buddy, he always showed me respect even
though I was a child. This was one of his great attributes along with his
everlasting smile. He made everyone around him feel better and put them in
a better mood just by saying hello. He will be greatly missed by anyone
that has ever come in contact with him. |

and Ric, I was very sorry to read that your father had died. I only met
him personally once or twice but always heard nice things about him. I know
that you both enjoy the outdoors like he did and as do I, so you will
understand when I say that when one's time is up that is a wonderful place
to leave, sharing the company of a good dog, God and the great outdoors.

dear pat, rick, ray and family,
i want to say how sorry i am about buddy. he was a great man and
was very nice and always a super guy to me and when i had and
opportunity to see buddy or be around him anytime it was a great
excitement for me and a very great experience. i did get to spend quite
a bit of time with him several years ago when i was hunting at yellow
creek and i will never forget him or how he treated me and made me
feel. he was always so nice and great to me over my life
and i respect him very very much. i am glad he enjoyed hunting so much
and it was nice to read in the paper this morning that was where he was.
some of my earliest memories of my life were living across the street on
locust from you all and i truly love all of you guys.
god bless each of you.

Ric, I was sorry to read of the loss of your dad. I only met him once or
twice and was very impressed with his sense of humor and love for the
outdoors. Since you both love to hunt and fish, I hope you will understand
the following. When it is time to go, could there be a better place than
with your dog, God and in the great outdoors? |

| Dearest
Friends: Both Sunny and I have lost our Father’s, and truly understand
the depth of your sorrow. Please accept our heart felt condolences and our
prayers for all of your family. Our community has lost a fine and good
man, and we are all diminished by his absence. Do not forget to give Baby
a big hug for us, as that puppy will surely feel a large emptiness of the
heart. Most Sincerely, R. J. & Sunny Wright (RTinMan@aol.com) |

| Dear
Ric, I am sorry to to read of your father's passing. We cannot make
tomorrow's services. Although i met your dad only once, both he and your
mom seem to be so nice, so real and amiable. There's nothing in these
words to ease the pain and burden upon you and your family now. This seems
such an impersonal way of expressing condolences. Yet, this is 2005 and
everything changes and everything remains the same. The longer we live,
the more people we bury. I like the photo of your dad and his dog. What an
unconditional friend is a dog. |

| Very
sorry to know Mr. Abernathy has left us. I never got to spend much time
with him, but the time I did was well respected. We seemed to share three
great loves,, duck hunting, our dogs and our old trusty hunting trucks. I live in Fulton and had the great pleasure of
meeting Mr. Abernathy a few
years ago through mutual friends. He never failed to wave each time our
paths crossed and we were each in our old hunting trucks. I will miss that
big wave and friendly smile very much. My prayers and thoughts to you and
your family. |

| Dear
Pat, I wanted you to know that I tried to attend the funeral just now, but
they were having to turn people away because there was no more room.
Howard and Mom had called and said that it was extremely full but they
would save me a seat. I still attempted to go because I thought I could
just park across the street but such was not the case. I know that Dr.
Wren will have so many wonderful comments about Buddy. My heart is with
you, Ray, Ric, and all the family at this time. |

only met Buddy once (at Donna's B-Day party at Nelly's) and we briefly
discussed our dogs and their epilepsy. When I read that he had passed with
Buddy by his side, I couldn't stop the tears. His service was very
touching, the flower arrangements were all beautiful (especially the cross
and the one with the fish) and I think Dr. Wren did a wonderful job. |

When Dad
(Whit) called me and told me Buddy had passed away while hunting with Baby
at his side, I was so very sad. But, I know if Buddy were here he would
say, "life was great"! I'm so thankful that I knew Buddy...he
had such beautiful sparkling eyes and a smile that seemed to never leave his face....a gentle kind and caring man. From the time I was a child until I moved away
both Buddy and you were a part of my life. For that I will always be thankful. Hanging out at the Abernathy's was so much fun. Fishing duck and quail hunting running the boats up and down Little River....who could ask for anything more? I'm so glad I had the opportunity to visit with Buddy and your family last spring and thrilled that Dad and Buddy had a few months to share old time together before he died. Time can always put distance between old friends but memories never fade. You have
a lot of wonderful memories to hold close to your heart and a lot to be thankful for...so regardless of the good or the bad times facing you now due to your loss...just know Buddy will always be watching over you and your family forever more. |

| Buddy and my greatest accomplishments were scholastically at UA Engine School, before we went to work that is. We shared an apt with Bo our last year, I think. Many years later the three of us and our lovely brides traveled together at Lake Ozarks, MO, Niagara Falls and Pat, Buddy, Sue and I at Yellowstone in the winter, snowmobiling. My bride, Alice, and I visited at their home some years later after Sue died. We planned to get together this spring in St. Louis. I have loved Pat and Buddy all these years and have been proud of him, his company accomplishments with his sons and their families.

| Dear Abernathy’s.....Losing Buddy has changed
all of our lives, naturally we think not for the better!!!! And it never
will be, but some of the oldest memories I have of Buddy, is double dating
when Jack and I first started dating... Everybody had to put up a quarter
for gas, girls too. And we went on state line to Dude Smith’s and got
gas!!! We then proceeded to go where the fun was, if it was free!!! Those
men never had money and there were always six and sometimes eight people
in the car.. Buddy thought up the most fun things to do, he always was an
excellent driver, and I will never forget the blue Dodge...I think one of
the reasons I fell in love with Jack was the great times we had with
Buddy,, love Carol Trig |

There You Are
When the wind decides to fade, and the world has rendered still,
Once darkness vales the earth, and the stars will not appear…
There you are!
When there are no more words to say, and not enough time to give,
Once all the songs have been sung, and there’s no more life to live…
There you are!
When al the flowers have gone, and the light has left the day.
Once the world has gone to sleep, and the ducks have flown away…
There you are!
When the morning doth arise, and it’s time to breathe again.
It’s like I almost feel you, through the presence in the wind…
There you are!
I may not see you, but I know that you’re not far.
And I know that you can feel me too, deep within your heart.
All throughout the sky, some where in the stars.
Like a silent angel watching, where I am..
There you are!
